The Sassies felt right at home at Rich’s Mighty Fine Burgers & Grub. We couldn’t wait to dive into the fat and juicy burgers. The menu selection was rather surprising, given the very low-key atmosphere of the restaurant, but Rich knows his burgers, and he certainly knows his toppings.

I know I was pleasantly surprised by the large variety of burgers, sandwiches and sides offered on the menu. And I can never get too much blue cheese. I hope none of the other Sassies saw me licking the Blue Cheese Crumble Fries dish clean or double-dipping on numerous occasions.

Rich’s Mighty Fine Burgers & Grub seems to be a big hit with the business crowd during the week, and Rich said that there is often a line outside the door. We were all surprised by how busy it was on a Saturday night, given that many of the surrounding businesses and buildings were closed. If people come in on their days off, you know that’s a testament to some good, quality food. We also had the pleasure to meet one of Rich’s original customers, who has been coming back for years.

Rich made the natural transition from what started off as a food cart to a restaurant, and he has continued plans to expand his restaurant business. The Sassies would be thrilled if he decided to move to the south end of the valley.

While the restaurant itself may not lend itself to sitting down to a meal with children, the food would most certainly be pleasing to any picky eater. And if you’re concerned about your child not getting enough vegetables, I think the deep fried green beans will help you meet your healthy food quota for the week.

This week the Sassies have taken you to the tasty world that is Legends Pub & Grill.  And I think we all agree that even the king himself would have been chowing down that queso dip.

It’s true. If Elvis were around he would be waiting in line like the rest of us to get a taste of the scrumptious selection of food at Legends Pub & Grill.

You don’t have to be Elvis, or even famous to be treated like a rock star at Legends.  It has that hometown feel like Cheers—you expect to walk in and everybody says “Norm”.  Which would be strange if your name isn’t Norm, but charming all the same.

And I just have to mention that menu again.  It literally has something for everyone with the pasta, burger, pizza and even children’s section.

One menu item that intrigued the Sassies was the Legends Poutine. Not sure how to pronounce it or what it is? Check out this video:

And speaking of the little ones, the interior is very family friendly: free billiards, darts and table soccer, not to mention more flat screen TVs than I could count.  What really struck me is how few alcohol advertisements were on display, which is pretty rare for a pub and appreciated by this mom.

Despite parking woes or having to wait in line at the bathroom, it’s obvious that the overall experience was “molto buono”! How could it not be? I’m a busy lady (I’d say “girl,” but teetering on the cusp of 30 makes me feel like I should start referring to myself as an adult). Family dinner is important to me and mine; I spend a good chunk of time in the kitchen as a result. But you know what? Being a gourmet goddess in the kitchen isn’t always as easy or as time-sensitive as one might like.  Enter Shirley J, the wizard of “Cooking Made Easy.”

Chef Brian managed to pull together several dishes out of seemingly thin air in the short time we were there using Shirley J products, including but certainly not limited to, calzones complete with different fillings and a warm marinara for dipping, spring salad (with bacon just for Becca, our guest Sassy) and a fresh vinaigrette, bbq sauces of all varieties and a few others. Becky was also kind enough to send us all home with a variety of Shirley J products to try on our own.

So how did the Sassies fare and what did we think of our test kitchen time? Did we have any success with the Universal Sauce mix, Pizza & Pasta seasoning, Slow Cooker seasoning, BBQ Sauce Mix or Onion  seasonings? Or did Chef Brian show us up in the end? We generally get at least a few face-stuffing pics, but Rockwell Catering prepared WAY too yummy of a meal for us to do anything but grab a plate and enjoy!

Anastasia’s Attic, located within Gardner Village, is an emporium for all things that appeal to the romantic inside all of us.  Little treasures and trinkets fill the shop, each with their own story and meaning.  The store is put together as if you are in the Russian Princess Anastasia Romanov’s attic, taking you to a place where she not only lived, but had wonderful adventures, keeping all of her priceless treasures tucked away in this special place.  If you’re looking for a place to find something sentimental for yourself or someone you love or care about, this is the place for you!

Tara Starling’s inspiration for starting Anastasia’s Attic, began right after September 11, 2001.  She dreamt of creating a place where people could escape their cares and worries and reconnect to tranquility and inspiration.  Tara says, “…with a degree in musical theater and a career as a makeup artist in TV and film, I was really the least likely person to start a business.  And the last person to want to.  And yet the dream persisted.  This place wanted to be real.”

If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably thought about having a personal trainer… off in those dreams where you are a Hollywood celebrity and you also have a personal chef, assistant and a million dollar mansion.  After meeting with Laura, however, I realized that not only is having a personal trainer attainable for those of us without an entourage, but it’s such a good idea to help you reach your goals.

Laura is just so down-to-earth.  Not only does she really know her stuff, but she has struggled with her own weight.  She gets it in a way like no other trainer does.  I LOVE this about her.  I also fell in love with how friendly Laura is.  She’s so kind that we all felt tempted to just dump our how-we-trash-our-bodies secrets (y’know, the secret stashes of chocolate, the confession that you can’t touch your toes nor even think about running).  This video shows a sampling of that.. you’ll keep seeing sweet Laura listening to everyone’s confessions (we LOVE you, Laura!!):

The one thing I will say about our night with Laura was that we were all a bit silly… poor Laura.  She was so good at teaching us, but we were even better at getting off topic (especially as the night went on).  Some of my favorite moments (aside from all the fabulous things Laura taught us) were:

Michelle demonstrating an exercise move… actually everyone kind of got into this, but I wasn’t able to get pictures of them… dang it.  Michelle has specifically requested to have more “normal” pictures of her taken and posted in our reviews… but these are just so dang fun!  Love you, Michelle:

Carina: I love the idea of assembling meals ahead of time, the instructions were so simple, and then having the meals in my freezer? It was incredible.
Emily: The fun vibe…a little music in the background, some good conversation, hanging out with girlfriends and then leaving with three complete meals for my family. Oh, and the chicken paella (see Quinn’s photo below), though it was a tie as far as my family was concerned. They loved the manicotti!
Marie: Eating while we worked, and the friends. Who doesn’t love 10 fun friends in the kitchen with you?
Quinn: I love having a yummy, healthy dinner ready to just pull out of the freezer, cook and serve for dinner. My family’s favorite was the chicken paella.

Allison: They needed louder tunes, and a soda fountain. Hey, a girl can dream!
Carina: While the prices are reasonable, there is a minimum serving order, and I would prefer a lower minimum.
Emily: That some of the recipes were involved enough to make it hard to chat with my new friend Becky from UtahLovesCupcakes.com. That and the prices were a little high for my taste, but you’re totally paying for convenience which is worth it!
Marie: Nothing really. There were great choices and easy directions. I loved it.
Quinn: That I couldn’t be there that night (spent the night in the ER). I really fought going to the ER because I didn’t want to miss going to Dream Dinners. Thanks, Em, for making my meals and bringing them to me so we could still try them. And thanks, Danielle and Jean, for being so accommodating and kind! (((hugs)))

Allison: Planning on it. My family loved the food, the prices were totally reasonable, and I had a great time with my girlfriends. Can’t wait to do it again.
Carina: I actually can’t wait to get back. I’m a working mom who often has to pull dinner out at the last minute. Having the meals ready to whip out was fantastic. By using the Dream Dinner, I was able to get dinner on the table in less than 15 minutes. How cool is that?
Emily: Unfortunately the closest one is in Orem so probably not until they get a location closer to my home. (Hurry up!)
Marie: Yes! These are great for stocking up on, when I can’t think of what to cook that week.
