Preview: Utah Family Acupuncture & Herbs

This week our review will focus on an art that began centuries ago, which is now considered a great alternative or addition to Western medicine. Acupuncture is one of the modalities of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It has been practiced for at least 2,000 years, and some sources say as many as 5,000 years.

At Utah Family Acupuncture & Herbs it is used as a non-invasive way to treat many conditions including: back pain, joint pain, headache or migraine, common cold or flu, Bell’s palsy, infertility (female and male), depression, anxiety, hemorrhoids, dizziness, symptoms of menopause, sinus infections and many more.

Brighton Roper, L.Ac. M.S.T.O.M., the acupuncturist at Utah Family Acupuncture and Herbs, uses a combination of tiny needles inserted into specific points, cupping, moxibustion, electro-stimulation and more to customize  treatments to each of her clients. She even has many clients of the small variety as she has a special love for helping children.

In addition to the conditions listed above, Brighton has a number of cosmetic and rejuvenation protocols. There are acupuncture sessions available to enhance the appearance of face and neck, abdomen and breast.

Brighton is very interested in herbal medicine and has studied this subject extensively.  At Utah Family Acupuncture & Herbs, they currently carry capsulated formulas, pediatric tinctures and granules. All of the herbs adhere to FDA regulations.

I am seriously sad I missed getting stabbed with a zillion tiny needles. I have always wanted to try accupuncture.
