Where can I satisfy my sweet tooth? Who caters treats for weddings or birthday parties? Is there a place my girlfriends and I can go later in the evening to satisfy our sweet cravings and laugh and giggle all night? If you have been wondering any or all of these, we’ve found the place for you.
The Chocolate is a dessert bakery located in Orem, UT, which boasts of freshly baked treats including gourmet cupcakes, brownies, bars, tarts, cookies and layered cakes (to name a few), using only the finest and local ingredients.

Ange Christiansen is the owner and mastermind behind The Chocolate, which started as a hobby but quickly evolved into a career. The story behind the evolution of The Chocolate is so fantastic and romantic. Ange’s dream started in elementary school and her husband is her biggest fan! You can hear it for yourself as they tell the Sassies their story:
Every Wednesday night is considered Ladies’ Night when they keep the cafe open past hours, offer free milk and delicious desserts to give you that sugar high for bonding with your girlfriends. Some of their popular items? Cakes by the slice:
The Dottie: An ode to pineapple upside down cake. Smothered in vanilla whipped cream and accented with toasted coconut.
The Kitty Katrina: Divine vanilla cake layered with fruit filling and topped with whipped vanilla buttercream.
The Husband (you guessed it—Ange’s husband’s favorite): Moist yellow cake layers separated by milk chocolate ganache, drenched in more ganache and dressed with chocolate mosaic pieces.
The Chocolate offered a variety of their tempting baked goods to the Sassies and guest Sassy Becca when we stopped by for Ladies’ Night. Check back later this week to find out what we ate and what were our favorites.

I absolutely love this place! I love that it is located in a quaint old house. I think it is fun to go upstairs and sit on couches, as if you were in your own house. My personal favorite is the Cazookie. It is seriously one of the best one’s I’ve ever had. It even satisfied my sweet tooth, which is hard to do!
my bff and i popped in on friday night after a movie. both of us have a critical eye (darling place!) and discerning palate (delicious treats!) and we LOVED The Chocolate. i’m only disappointed that i hadn’t been previously!!
