QUESTION
What was your first impression?
.
THE SCOOP
Camille: Just a fun, casual atmosphere—perfect for families or friends who want to get together and enjoy good food!
Emily: To be honest, my first impression was a few years ago when I went there with a coworker from my ol’ LoveSac days. We had breakfast and it was super yummy. With the Sassies, my first impression consisted of onion rings and shakes enjoyed on the patio—the perfect summer get-together!
Kalli: Diners are like home to me, welcome back to the mothership, Kalli.
Kristina: The diner has a fun, vintage, eclectic feel to it. I really loved the outdoor patio. It makes people watching/judging all that much easier.
Quinn: LOVED the outdoor seating area and the inside is really fun and eclectic.
Stephanie: I really loved the sign. I am a sucker for cool neon signs. Also… feed me those onion rings.
Vanessa: Fun colors. The lady when we walked in wasn’t terribly friendly but the food on everyone’s table looked DELICIOUS!

QUESTION
What did you like the most?
.
THE SCOOP
Camille: I’m going to have to say the onion rings, which is surprising because I don’t even like onions! The chocolate malt was a close second!
Emily: Hands down the onion rings with a side of vanilla Diet Coke. Oh, and the club sandwich was really, really tasty too. And the whole diner-style feel…perfect for a summer’s evening! Let’s not forget about our awesome waiter. I swear he’s tried everything on the menu!
Kalli: The onion rings. (Do I even have to say?)
Kristina: I loved the onion rings. And the cheese fries. And the shakes. And the salmon club. I felt pretty good after the review, since I only gained 21 pounds and a pregnancy belly.
Quinn: I thought the shakes and appetizers were awesome! I also loved the wide variety of items offered on the menu.
Stephanie: It is a toss-up between the real cherry Coke (you know the kind… straight Coke from the tap and add some cherry juice and cherries…mmmm) and the onion rings.
Vanessa: The server—he was really helpful, nice and fun. Diner food usually isn’t my thing but the menu had quite a few things I would love to try. It’s a really great menu. Boy, those onion rings! I don’t even like onion rings and I loved these!

QUESTION
What didn’t you like?
.
THE SCOOP
Camille: If I were health-conscious, I wouldn’t be too keen on the menu, but since I’m not…
Emily: You know, the chili cheese fries were not my favorite and the famous pork chili verde burrito was way too spicy for me (personal taste). But perhaps the most disappointing was the bathroom. Seriously a turnoff.
Kalli: Not much. I was generally happy with everything.
Kristina: I wasn’t a fan of the hummus. But I’m a recent hummus convert so it’s possible their hummus was like the Rolls Royce of hummus, and I’ve been eating the Kia of hummus all along.
Quinn: I wasn’t crazy about the fish I ordered, but I’m sure that’s my fault because I’m not a fish lover. The color and presentation were beautiful, though!
Stephanie: The outside patio is slanted; eating on a slope isn’t very pleasant. But I love outdoor dining too much!
Vanessa: The uneven floor outside. I was placed in a way that all the crumbs and drink liquid made their way down the table and into my lap! Some of the spicy dishes were just a touch TOO spicy (and I love spicy!).

QUESTION
Would you refer The Blue Plate Diner to a friend?
.
THE SCOOP
Camille: Heck yes! If it’s good enough for Guy Fieri, it’s definitely good enough for us!
Emily: Most definitely! I’m so glad a good friend recommended it to me!
Kalli: Already have.
Kristina: Definitely. I had been wanting to try it for a while, ever since it was featured on Guy Fieri’s Food Network show, and I do anything Guy tells me. I now have bleach blond spiked hair and a goatee. Blue Plate did not disappoint.
Quinn: Absolutely! I’ve already told my family and friends they’ve got to check it out.
Stephanie: YES! I actually need to take my hubby there.
Vanessa: Yes! I think this is a place you just HAVE to try when you live or visit Utah. It’s almost like a right of passage! I want to go back for breakfast.
