QUESTION
What was your first impression?
.
THE SCOOP
Allison: Loved the chandeliers, looked cozy and fun.
Carina: Beautiful displays, piles of cookies, dozens of cupcakes, hip decorations, solid menu, and get a load of those chandeliers!
Emily: The location was a bit nondescript and well hidden but tempting treats lie hidden inside! And you’ll hear to from other sassies: LOVE the chandeliers!
Jyl: What a cute place!
Marie: Fancy, yet homey. Fine dining with the funky chandeliers, but yummy homestyle food.
Quinn: Shabby/Chic with lots of fun treats, like their color palette (blue and rust).
Rachael: Loved the vibe – very cool chandeliers and decor!
Vanessa: Quaint, homey and I was drooling over the treats in the bakery cases. Their loaves of bread reminded me of why I miss living back east.
.
QUESTION
What did you like the most?
.
THE SCOOP
Allison: The food, d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s!
Carina: I think their tomato soup is extremely delicious: rounded, full, savory, and scrumptious. I love that they have so many vegetarian options. The baked goods are so well done, cookies, raspberry bars, and you absolutely must try a chocolate mousse tart. Never mind. Their tarts are terrible, don’t buy any, leave them all for me.
Emily: The tomato soup was my favorite; it rivaled Paradise Bakery (and maybe even Porcupine Grill).
Jyl: The chandeliers. Charming ambiance!
Marie: I loved the paninis, all of them!!
Quinn: I loved the chandeliers and the soup… oh, yeah and that yummy little jelly-filled cupcake… mmmm…
Rachael: Sadly, I was dairy free that evening and had to limit my food selections. Their “dangit what was the name of it ” bean soup was awesome and I did sneak a bite of a cupcake that was AMAZING!
Vanessa: The paninis and soups, it is so hard to find a really good panini and their’s were unbelievably yummy. They have a great options for vegetarians, my favorite the Apple Walnut Brie Panini.
.
QUESTION
What didn’t you like?
.
THE SCOOP:
Allison: Hard to find a table to fit all of us!
Carina: I really want them to have more amazing baguettes. They’re OK, but I want them to be exceptional. This is my own hang-up, of course, but I judge every bakery on their baguettes (which should be deeply colored with a shatteringly crisp crust and complex flavor.) That still doesn’t stop me from from ordering the caprese type sandwich on baguette, especially once the tomatoes start to really come into season.
Emily: The location wasn’t the best choice, but what do I know about American Fork? I’m a Salt Lake sassy! I also didn’t love that their cash register was closed when I wanted to buy a loaf of cinnamon bread and a few pounds of sweets!
Jyl: The cupcakes. A little too heavy for my taste.
Marie: Don’t love the location, but it is kinda a fun hidden place.
Quinn: Tough to say; can’t think of anything in particular except for the exterior was definitely not as cute and fun as the inside, but I can completely understand why.
Rachael: That I couldn’t eat dairy!
Vanessa: I wished they had more options for fountain and specialty drinks. I think they should start carrying Blue Sky Sodas, then it would be perfect.
.
QUESTION
Would you visit again?
.
THE SCOOP:
Allison: Absolutely! The food was great, & the atmosphere was fun.
Carina: I’m going back tomorrow, and probably again next week. I think they’re the perfect lunch spot and I eat at Flour Girls and Dough Boys at least a couple times a month. They’re a wonderful find.
Emily: Again, I live up near Salt Lake but if I’m in the area, definitely!
Jyl: For a girl’s lunch over soup? Absolutely!
Marie: Yes. I love bringing home soup and bread for the family.
Quinn: Yes. I’d like to have a luncheon in one of their little back rooms that are so cute.
Rachael: Definitely. Utah County continues to surprise me with some cool local businesses.
Vanessa: I did return with my girls and had a completely opposite experience, so I am going to visit one more time with my mom to give them another chance, because the first experience was perfect.
.
QUESTION
If you could only send out one tweet about the business, what would you say?
.
THE SCOOP:
Allison: Yummy food at a family friendly restaurant!
Carina: Exceptional treats and delicious, wholesome, homemade food at local Flour Girls makes me feel loved every time I walk through the door.
Emily: Have you tried the tomato soup and spicy chicken bacon sandwich from Flour Girls & Dough Boys in AF, UT? If not you’re missing out!
Jyl: UTAH: Check out Flour Boys & Dough Girls: charming bakery w/yummy soups & delish salads in the heart of AF.
Marie: Come visit the Flour Girls and Dough Boys as they whip up fresh yummy food you’ll love to eat!
Quinn: Take the girlfriends for a cute, yummy lunch at Flour Girls & Dough Boys (& invite me to come!).
